Product Disclaimer: Glass on the Grass™ Wine Coaster
At Glass on the Grass™, we celebrate life outdoors. We invented the Glass on the Grass™ wine coaster base to enhance the enjoyment of your picnic. We sell the product on our website and through select retailers.
Stability
Once a Glass on the Grass™ wine coaster base is correctly put onto a standard wine glass it increases the surface area of the bottom of the wine glass.
It was originally designed to help stabilise a standard wine glass set down on relatively flat grass on a picnic. It works equally well on flat sand, flat rock and outdoor tables.
While our product will assist to stabilise a wine glass on a variety of surfaces, it’s not fool proof: we make no representations or warranties that the product will be suitable for all purposes (for example, while the product will fit most standard wine glasses, we don’t promise it’ll fit every single one) or on all surfaces (for example long grass, sloping ground, a glass that is too full or strong gust of wind).
Appearance of the Product
Please note that as we are a small business and produce our products in small production runs, there is likely to be colour variations between batches. There may also be some difference in colour from the image you see on screen and the colour of the product you receive due to lighting, screen, surfaces they appear on, the settings, time of day the photo was taken, filters applied and so.
Using the Product
We encourage you to use your discretion in using the product, and to test it out on different surfaces.
Images of the product are for display and illustrative purposes only, and do not amount to a representation or warranty that the product will be suitable in the circumstances pictured. Unless expressly stated, any brand logos or names inadvertently captured in our images do not represent an affiliation with that brand or person.
It’s important that you follow our instructions when putting the product on your glass to ensure the glass sits flat inside.
The product is designed to fit a standard size wine glass and designed to support 150ml of wine, which is the average restaurant serving of wine.
The maximum deflection of the prongs when it is on a glass should be no greater than 10mm. A lift greater than this is not recommended and may result in the glass not being securely attached to the base – the most common factors that would lead to this would be if the circumference of the glass stem was too large or the wine glass base was too thick. In both these cases, Glass on the Grass™ is not designed for the glass you are using.
Please be aware that the coaster is also not designed for extra tall glasses.
If the base of your glass does not sit flat on the four platforms then your glass is not suitable for our product.
Glass on the Grass™ is also not designed to be used with glasses that have thick stems. When the wine coaster base is on the glass, the slit between the prongs should not be greater than 4mm. If the gap is greater than this the glass is not suitable.
While the product decreases the likelihood of a spill, it won’t prevent spills in all cases – for example, if a wine glass is knocked by a person, child or pet or by a strong gust of wind.
While our product may give you greater peace of mind while dining outdoors, we encourage you to exercise caution and common sense when using our product. Please don’t use the product with glassware while around water (such as by the pool or spa or while boating). Be aware that the product may function differently when using a plastic glass.
Our product doesn’t represent a safety risk; however, you should be aware that if using it with or around glassware, breakages can occur and broken glass is a significant injury hazard, especially around children, pets and water. Please be aware that we won’t accept liability for any loss, damage or injury caused by your failure to follow our instructions and recommendations on the use of the product.
The Product
Our product is made from durable, BPA free, food-grade K-Resin. It is designed for long-term repeat use, however, we make no representations about exactly how long it’ll last.
Over time, your wine coaster may develop surface scratches from being transferred in and out of picnic bags and baskets. These scratches will add character to the product and will not affect function. To reduce the chance of this happening, we recommend you store your coasters in one of our linen or jute bags between uses. When your Glass on the Grass™ wine coaster has reached the end of its life, it can be recycled.
While we may give you guidance or information on how to maintain and clean the product (warm wash with dishwashing liquid and keep out of direct sunlight when not in use), you agree and acknowledge that any such use, maintenance or cleaning is at your own risk. If the product is damaged, you should cease using it immediately.
